Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about buying from Exotic Haven.

Q: Do you offer a live arrival guarantee?

A: Yes, absolutely. Every animal we ship comes with a full live arrival guarantee. If your animal arrives deceased (which is extremely rare with our shipping methods), we will replace the animal at no extra cost or provide a full refund. You must notify us within 2 hours of delivery with photographic evidence.

Q: Are all your animals captive bred?

A: Yes — 100%. We will never sell a wild-caught animal. Every single animal we offer has documented captive-bred origin. This is non-negotiable for us for both ethical and legal reasons.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

A: We accept Bank Transfer (Wire), Zelle, PayPal, Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency, and Cash App. A 25% deposit is required to reserve an animal, with the balance due before shipping.

Q: How do you ship live animals?

A: USA domestic orders ship via FedEx Priority Overnight, typically arriving by 10:30am the next day. We ship Monday through Wednesday to avoid weekend delays. Animals are packed in insulated boxes with appropriate heat or cool packs. International orders use IATA-compliant containers with all required documentation.

Q: Do I need a permit to buy an exotic animal?

A: It depends on the species and your location. Many common species (ball pythons, bearded dragons, leopard geckos, etc.) require no permits anywhere. Restricted species like certain large cats, primates, or CITES-listed birds do require permits. We advise you on requirements for your specific animal and location, and only ship where legal.

Q: What countries do you ship to?

A: We ship to all 50 US states, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. Some species may not be shippable to certain locations due to local laws.

Q: How long does shipping take?

A: USA: next business day (FedEx Priority Overnight). UK/Canada/Australia: 1-3 days depending on destination and customs. We provide tracking the same day your animal ships.

Q: What should I do when my animal arrives?

A: Have the enclosure fully set up and at the correct temperature before delivery day. Open the box carefully, transfer the animal to its enclosure, and leave it completely alone for 48-72 hours to acclimate. Do not handle or feed during this period. Contact us immediately if there are any concerns.

Q: Can I request a species not listed on your website?

A: Absolutely. Contact us through our inquiry form with the species you are looking for. We have a wide network of reputable captive breeders and can often source specific animals on request.

Q: Do you provide care information?

A: Yes. We provide a care guide with every animal purchase, and our team is available for free lifetime support for any animal bought from us. We also have an extensive blog with detailed care guides for all our species.
